Song - See His Love

Sang this song recently, and it really stuck in my head.

Verse 1:
See His love nailed onto a cross
Perfect and blameless life given as sacrifice
See Him there all in the name of love
Broken yet glorious, all for the sake of us

Chorus:
This is Jesus in His glory
King of Heaven dying for me
It is finished, He has done it
Death is beaten, Heaven beckons me

Verse 2:
Greater love no one could ever show
Mercy so undeserved, freedom I should not know
All my sin, all of my hidden shame
Died with Him on the cross, eternity won for us

Bridge:
Such love, such love
Such love is this for me (repeat)

Great song!
And so TRUE...I`ll never understand how God could die for someone like me...that`s REAL LOVE!

That is really sick. And what kind of love is that? God hated the world so much that whoever doesn't believe in his word will be ETERNALLY punished?

Frankly, it would not be that tough to die for someone you loved. Wouldn't any normal feeling person die for their children? Yet God is willing to punish his children if they don't believe this story without any evidence. According to this worldview, God gave you intelligence yet expects you to suspend the use of that intelligence in order to believe a really fantastical story. Love indeed.

No, I know, God gave me my chance. The fact that millions never got a chance to hear that fantastical story in the first place, well, that's all part of God's mysterious plan to destroy the niggers and other darkies. It was kind of a mistake to make them folk in the first place. Not that God ever makes mistakes, being perfect and everything.

Wow anonymous - which planet have you just arrived from?

Lets put a few facts straight first:

1) In the UK, people with a very high level of melanin are more likely to go to church than people with a low level of melanin.

2) There are far more regular church attenders in Uganda than in the UK.

I really don't see where your whole racist agenda thing is coming from. Frankly, such langauge isn't appropriate.

3) You miss the point of the song.

Mercy so undeserved, freedom I should not know.

or here's a quote from the Bible (Rom 5:10, NTL)

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son.

The issue is not just that Jesus died for us, it is that he died for us after we had made ourselves his enemies.

Oh, and if you see evidence of me suspending my intelligence, or indeed resorting to racist invective, please let me know.
